Batik or Shibori Virtual Workshop
Explore the process of Batik and make your own creative patterns and designs in our classes. Participants will be able to practice and try multiple methods of each technique. At the end, you will have completed your own personalized set.
We propose a choice between 2 kind of traditional artistic dyeing
- Batik is a delicate method of dyeing fabric using a removable wax resist. Hot wax is applied to fabric using batik blocks, canting pens, brushes, or other tools. The fabric and wax are then painted. After drying, the wax is removed in a boiling water bath, revealing a pattern on the fabric.
- Shibori is a Japanese manual tie-dyeing technique, which produces a number of different patterns on fabric.
No prior skills are needed.
